Kanji Draw is a valuable tool designed to assist Japanese language learners in entering and recognizing kanji characters, an essential component of the Japanese writing system. This software turns your touchscreen device into a digital canvas, allowing you to draw characters with your finger or stylus, which is then identified through robust handwriting recognition technology.

With a focus on helping users look up kanji in dictionaries or input them on websites, this resource simplifies the process of copying recognized characters to the clipboard for seamless integration. However, to ensure accurate character recognition, users are expected to have a basic understanding of kanji, including the correct stroke order and structure.

Highlighting its flexibility, the software offers two modes of recognition. The exact mode requires precise input regarding stroke count, order, and direction, while the inexact mode is more lenient, allowing any stroke order. If the inexact mode doesn't yield results, further search options allow the consideration of the character having one stroke more or fewer than drawn.

The platform boasts a user-friendly interface marked by immediate exact-match results, a progress bar for inexact searches, and the option to adjust stroke counts if necessary. The 'Done' button may appear inactive while loading data files upon first usage or when interacting with a new character; this is temporary and resolves within seconds.

Its functionality is primarily based on the leafdigital kanjirecog library, adhering to the GNU Public License version 3. Additionally, it employs a kanji drawing database inspired by KanjiVG project's stroke order images, further ensuring a comprehensive and authoritative learning tool.
